18.03 - 06.05 R Gallery will host an exhibition of book illustrations by Ukrainian artist Anna Ryazanova “Mustikas and the Furious Run”. The watercolor paintings for Marge Pärnitsa’s children’s book “Mustikas and the Furious Run” were created in the spring and summer of 2022, and the story was published in book form at the end of the same year. For the artist, who moved from Kharkiv to Tartu a year ago, making pictures for the story of Mustikas was her first experience illustrating a children’s book. “While making illustrations for the stories of Mustikas, I remembered how much I have always loved watercolor,” says Anna Ryazanova about the works in the exhibition, and this love is truly evident in every picture. Anna Ryazanova was born, raised, and studied in Ukraine. She graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, and her previous main work has been related to various murals, frescoes, interior design, and 3D visualization.
