The exhibition “Not a Bear Sleeps” features a selection of Anne Mari Roost’s recent paintings and drawings. A poem written by Anne Mari also bears the same title, which can also be read at the exhibition. In one way or another, all of Anne Mari Roost’s work speaks of curiosity. According to the author herself, curiosity is what makes a bear look behind the spruce trees or drives us out of a warm room. Curiosity leads us to tread unknown paths or notice something new on a familiar path. This leads to encounters with completely unbelievable characters or, why not, ourselves.

Anne Mari Roost (b. 1990) is a biologist and teacher. She has been drawing and painting as a hobby for several years. She has studied at the Tallinn Art Gymnasium and, among other things, furniture restoration at the Tartu Higher Art School for one year.

“One Bear Doesn’t Sleep” is Anne Mari Roost’s debut exhibition.
