"All of us who share life on this huge rock – the surface of the earth, are all made of the same chemical elements. We are made of the same substance. We all influence each other. Every morning when I arrive at the studio, I have a different mood, it comes from the weather, my mood, the people I meet on the way, the news on the radio, memories, the season, the letters I read, the cyclical nature of the work process, the deadlines for orders, the glances I meet on the way, the air temperature, the humidity in the studio, etc. There are an endless number of these changing factors, yet every time I draw the first line on clean clay, I am saved again, I am back in my own safe world, my own element. I collect the glaze residues, i.e. the residues of chemicals, and mix them into new, wonderful, surprising shades. I take the brush rinsing water fertilized with chemicals outside so that the ground can I would embrace it again. I enjoy the process because this journey is wonderful."/ Kärt Seppel

Kärt Seppel (b.1968) graduated from the State Institute of Arts in 1992 with a degree in ceramic and applied artist. Since 1992, Kärt Seppel has participated in numerous exhibitions and
symposiums in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Korea, China and Croatia. He is a founding member of the open studio “Asuurkeraamika” and a member of the Artists' Union and the Ceramists' Union
